Phase 1 · Months 1–2
MEP Fundamentals & HVAC Design
Project coordination principles, codes and standards, then full HVAC design capability — psychrometrics, load calculations using Carrier HAP, duct sizing, chilled water system design, VRF selection, and HVAC AutoCAD layout drawings.
Phase 2 · Months 3–4
Electrical Design
Load estimation, transformer and DG sizing, HT / LT power distribution, cable sizing, protection studies, earthing, lightning protection, and lighting design using DIALux — complete electrical system design for buildings with AutoCAD drawing production.
Phase 3 · Months 5–7
Plumbing & Fire Protection
Water supply, sanitary drainage, storm water, and hot water system design, followed by fire sprinkler, hydrant, and fire alarm system design to NFPA 13 and NBC 2016. Full plumbing and fire protection drawing packages produced in AutoCAD.
Phase 4 · Months 8–9
Integrated Drawing Production & Live Projects
Coordinated MEP drawing production across all disciplines in AutoCAD — bringing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection onto a single building floor plan with full schedule and BOQ packages. Two complete project deliverables with faculty review and career placement support.

Can a mechanical engineer learn the electrical modules?
Yes. The electrical module is specifically structured for mechanical and civil engineers who have not studied electrical systems before. The content reaches the depth required for MEP co-ordination and design roles — not the full specialist depth of the dedicated PG Diploma in Electrical System Design, which goes considerably deeper into protection studies, ETAP analysis, and BIM production.
How does this diploma compare to taking the individual discipline diplomas separately?
The MEP diploma gives you breadth across all three disciplines — making you well-suited for building services design coordination roles. The individual diplomas (Electrical System Design, HVAC Design, Piping Engineering) go significantly deeper into each discipline. Many students complete the MEP diploma first to gain broad competency, then return to a specialist diploma to deepen one area. Both pathways are valid depending on your career goal.
Is AutoCAD included and how is it accessed?
Yes — AutoCAD is the primary drawing tool used throughout all nine months. Student licences are available through Autodesk’s education programme at no cost. We guide all students through installation and setup at the start of Module 2. Online students receive the same AutoCAD drawing templates and exercise files used on live KVRM projects.
Is Carrier HAP software provided?
Carrier HAP is available as a free download from Carrier’s website with an evaluation licence. We guide all students through installation and configuration at the start of the HVAC module. For online students, live screen-share sessions allow you to work through HAP exercises alongside the instructor in real time.
Is this the right course for someone targeting Gulf MEP roles?
Yes. MEP is one of the highest-demand disciplines in the Gulf construction market — UAE, KSA, Qatar, and Oman all have major building programmes that require multi-discipline MEP design engineers. The programme covers ASHRAE standards (dominant in Gulf HVAC practice), NFPA 13 fire protection, and produces project deliverables in AutoCAD to the drawing standards used by Gulf-based MEP consultancies. Several KVRM graduates from this programme are working in Gulf MEP roles.
Can I do this course alongside full-time work?
Yes. The blended and online formats are designed for working professionals. Sessions are scheduled to accommodate working hours and all live classes are recorded for review at your own pace. The nine-month structure is designed to allow a manageable weekly workload alongside employment.
